The official HQ–SOD logotype presented below appears on the department's materials and represents it.
Fighter jets
The centre of the logotype dominate two fighter jets at a high–pitch attitude pointing to the west and to the east, with a spacecraft in between and the IVAO acronym. These two fighter jets are F–35 and Su–27, which are both iconic and distinctive aircraft, symbolising the diverse nature of IVAO.
Spacecraft
The central element, spacecraft, consisting of a spaceplane with a rocket and two rocket boosters attached, solidify the logotype and suggests the progressive and revolutionary nature of the HQ–SOD vision.
Pentagram
Three five–pointed stars in the top left corner of the logotype forming a triangle figure denote a certain pentagram.
Helicopter
A helicopter in the top right corner represents an important kind of aircraft for special operations.
Strategic airlifter
A heavy military transport aircraft in the base of the logotype from the front perspective captured upon rotation epitomises the scene, symbolically carrying all the machinery above.
Details
The logotype is of a circular shape, with latitude and longitude grid lines in the background, exemplifying world globe. A circle border completes the logotype with the wording "Special Operations Department" and two stars engraved. Both colour palette and typefaces of the logotype reinforce the official IVAO branding.
