"Pitch Black 1 Exercise Operation Darwin"
International SO event

This event is open for participants' registration

Hosted by the IVAO HQ-Special Operations Department, this virtual event draws inspiration from the renowned Exercise Pitch Black, a biennial multinational air combat exercise organized by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). Set in the challenging and dynamic airspace of northern Australia, the event replicates the intensity and complexity of real-world military operations, offering participants an immersive experience in a controlled online environment.

The scenario of the mission takes place in a volatile region where a hostile coalition has destabilized neighboring nations. Under the Special Operations Alliance Treaty (SOAT), an international task force has been formed to neutralize the coalition's air power and re-establish control over contested airspace. Participants will face adversaries equipped with a sophisticated air defense network, advanced surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems, and capable interceptor aircraft, requiring strategic planning, seamless coordination, and precise execution.

The exercise spans a full day of virtual operations, beginning with detailed mission planning and progressing through aerial ingress into contested airspace, target engagements, and safe egress. Missions are conducted under varying conditions to test adaptability and foster interoperability among the participating nations and teams.

This event combines realism with the excitement of special operations, creating a unique opportunity for aviation enthusiasts and professionals to engage in high-stakes scenarios inspired by one of the Asia-Pacific's most significant air combat training exercises.
